#WorldChamps: Hyde finishes sixth in 400m hurdles final
EUGENE, Oregon – Jamaica’s lone representative in the final of the men’s 400 metres hurdles, Jaheel Hyde, had to settle for a sixth place finish at the Oregon World Championships.
Hyde, who is a two-time national champion in the event, lined up in a stacked field and could only produce a sixth place finish in a personal best of 48.03 seconds.
The race was won by the world leader and new championship record holder, Alison dos Santos of Brazil in 46.29 seconds. Rai Benjamin of the United States clocked a season’s best time of 46.89 seconds for silver, while his compatriot Trevor Bassitt ran a personal best of 47.39 seconds for the bronze medal.
