#WorldChamps: Jamaica names 4×100 relay teams
EUGENE, Oregon — Jamaica’s men’s 100 metre finalist, Oblique Seville, has been included in the men’s 4x100m team for tomorrow’s preliminary rounds at the World Athletics Championships at Hayward Field, Eugene, Oregon, while Olympic Games gold medallist Briana Williams and World Championships semi-finalist, Kemba Nelson, will run on the women’s team.
The teams were released by the management of the Jamaica team here this afternoon and will see 100m semi-finalist Ackeem Blake, Kemar Bailey-Cole, Jelani Walker and Seville run in the men’s race set to start at 5:05 pm local time.
Williams, Natalliah White, Kemba Nelson and Ramona Burchell will run the women’s preliminaries that will start at 6:40 pm.
Each team is allowed four changes if they qualify for the final to be run Saturday evening.
The Jamaican women are expected to bring in the three medallists from the 100m, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, Shericka Jackson and Elaine Thompson-Herah.
