KC breaks ground for synthetic Byron Bachelor running track
Kingston College on Friday officially broke ground to construct a 300-metre synthetic running track at its Upper Elletson Road venue. The project is to be managed by Pavecon Ltd and is scheduled to be completed by mid-February. It is estimated to cost US$440,000, of which 75 per cent was donated by the United States-based RuJohn Foundation, which is headed by KC Old Boy Byron Bachelor, after whom the track will be named. The remainder of the funding is expected from the KC community, to which several appeals have been made.
