PNP appoints Wavell Hinds as deputy gen sec
THE People’s National Party (PNP) on Wednesday announced the appointment of Wavell Hinds as a deputy general secretary of the party, with portfolio responsibility for outreach and recruitment.
“This appointment marks a significant milestone for the PNP as we continue to strengthen our commitment to fostering inclusivity, engaging communities, and ensuring dynamic leadership within the party,” read a PNP release.
Hinds now joins the secretariat, led by General Secretary Dr Dayton Campbell, and deputy general secretaries Wensworth Skeffrey, Nekeisha Burchell and Dexroy Martin.
“Together, this team of dedicated individuals will synergise their expertise and collective vision to drive the PNP forward on its journey of progress and service to the people of Jamaica.
“Hinds brings with him an illustrious record of service and dedication to the PNP, spanning over a decade. As a member of the National Executive Council, the National Workers’ Union, and the party executive, Mr Hinds has demonstrated profound leadership skills and a deep understanding of the challenges facing our nation. His involvement in various aspects of the party’s operations has given him a comprehensive understanding of its structures, making him an ideal fit for the role of deputy general secretary,” said the release.
The party said Hinds will play a crucial role in expanding the party’s reach and engagement with Jamaicans islandwide, adding that his expertise and experience will be instrumental in identifying and nurturing new talent, facilitating inclusivity, and building bridges across various sectors of society.
