Champs Granville register first win in St James U-13 football
TUCKER, St James — Champions Granville Primary scored their first win in the St James Football Association VM Foundation Uplift Under-13 competition on Friday after beating Somerton Primary 4-0 in their Zone SA game played at Wespow Park.
Romario Reid scored a double for Granville as they took over the lead in the zone ahead of Howard Cooke on goal-difference with both schools tied on four points each.
Howard Cooke also had their first win, beating Montego Bay Prep 3-0 while Anchovy Primary were 2-0 winners over Dumfries.
Reid scored his goals in the second half with strokes in the 38th and 52nd minutes after Dishawn Maxwell opened the scoring in the 37th minute while Julian Fowler also scored in the 45th minute.
Joshua Lawrence scored a brace for Howard Cooke in their win over Montego Bay Prep who had won their opening game a week earlier.
Howard Cooke led 1-0 at half-time after Jaheim Egbert gave them the lead in the 22nd minute while Lawrence added goals in the 37th and 45th minutes.
Onardo Flowers scored both goals in the first half as Anchovy beat Dumfries Primary 2-0.
