MAY PEN, Clarendon — Former champions Glenmuir High, Garvey Maceo High and Dinthill Technical all chalked up their second wins in Saturday's round of matches in the ISSA/Wata daCosta Cup football competition to stay perfect.

Glenmuir High came from a goal down to beat last year's losing finalists Central High; Garvey Maceo High blanked Tacius Golding 8-0; while Dinthill Technical were 6-1 winners over Ewarton High.

James Gallimore gave Central High the lead in the 11th minute as they opened their season but Glenmuir High, the Ben Francis KO holders, responded with five straight from Nyron Allen, Kyle Gordon, Tajaun Cummings, Deadre Johnson and Derrick Henry.

Cleo Clarke scored four times for Garvey Maceo High, after they had just managed to beat Foga Road 1-0 in their opening game earlier in the week.

Giovanni Afflick scored a hat-trick to lead Dinthill Technical as they sentenced Ewarton High to back-to-back losses, with Tyrese Gowe scoring a double and Gaybriel Anderson scoring the other.

Knox College, Morant Bay High and Happy Grove also scored back-to-back wins on Saturday.

Knox College took over the lead in Zone G with a 2-1 win over Mile Gully High, Morant Bay High edged Paul Bogle High 1-0 in Zone K, while Happy Grove beat Fair Prospect 4-2 in Zone N.

Meanwhile, a number of schools rebounded from opening-game losses to score wins on Saturday. Kevin Hawthorne, Kenroy Thorpe, Leonardo Crossbourne and Renaldo Gallimore were on the scoresheet as Maldon High beat Green Pond High 4-0; Spot Valley High clipped St James High 2-1; Bellefield High edged Christiana High 1-0; and Port Antonio High beat Titchfield High 3-1.
