DENBIGH, Clarendon — St Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS) completed the Inter-secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA) rural area junior football double after beating Vere Technical in the Under-14 final and Glenmuir High in the Under-16 final at Foga Road High on Friday.

It was the first time STETHS were winning the double and will now meet the winners of the urban area titles, which are still to be completed.

Jamaica College and St Andrew Technical High School (STATHS) are to meet in the urban Under-14 final, while St George’s College and Campion College will square off for the Under-16 crown.

On Friday STETHS won the Under-14 5-4 on penalties as the teams had ended 1-1 after regulation time, while they won the Under 16 2-0.

STETHS came from behind to earn a 1-1 draw in the Under-14 final after Patrick Page gave Vere Technical the lead in the 39th minute, but STETHS responded in the 60th minute when Kenroy Banton equalised and forced penalty kicks.

In the Under-16 game Justin McPherson gave STETHS the lead from the penalty spot in the 14th minute before Shemar Stewart added a second two minutes into time added on in the second half.
