Four years after they stopped traffic in Kingston's Financial District for their then magazine editorial shoot, the Island Child Style team is at it again. This time paying homage to the beauty of Kingston's historical Port Royal — the destination for this year's Island Child Style runway show slated for Saturday, December 3.

Twelve child models descended on the old town under the visual auspices of Master Photographer Dwayne Watkins, videographer Jhamaul Rattigan of Commercial Concepts, and the team from Island Child Style.

SO2 shares a sneak peek of what promises to be yet another spectacular runway show featuring some of the region's most notable designers.

The shoot was made possible courtesy of the Port Authority of Jamaica and the Tourism Enhancement Fund.

Over in Qatar...

If you've seen the adidas 2022 World Cup ad, you might have noticed English footballer Jude Bellingham wearing a retro-style jacket. The standout piece is actually not an old adidas product but a new item released in 2022 in collaboration with British-Jamaican designer Grace Wales Bonner.

The Adidas x Wales Bonner football jacket is inspired by 1970s football apparel, though the featured colourway and design look like its coming from a time machine.

Jamaican-Canadian model Winnie Harlow is out to prove she looks just as stylish off-duty as she does sashaying down the runway. Harlow, a public spokesperson on the skin condition vitiligo, turned heads in Dalood denim as she cheered on her NBA star beau Kyle Kuzma at the Washington Wizards home game against the Utah Jazz on November 12, 2022.

Harlow's basketball game photoshoots have become the norm, as it could be argued that her fuchsia ensemble worn at the Wizards' game against the Dallas Mavericks on November 10, almost stopped the clock. Her beau, Kuzma, scored 36 to lead the Wizards past the Mavericks 113-105. Harlow later joined the Wizard Dancers on court to celebrate.

Turner-Smith and friends luxuriated at Geejam's Panorama, a sprawling ranch-style home touted as a dreamy, contemporary Eden with an epic past, which was once the vacation home of Audrey Hepburn. The mid-century marvel is set on a half-acre of naturally landscaped gardens, and boasts 360-degree views of the John Crow and Blue Mountain peaks, while displaying the Caribbean Sea in all its splendour.

What happens when Jamaican-born, board-certified dermatologist Dr Rose Ingleton introduces supermodel Winnie Harlow to her Calming Hydration Booster on Instagram Live? An instant love affair! The two Jamaicans linked up recently to discuss how their culture inspired their skincare brands.

Harlow, a noted supermodel who has vitiligo — a disease that causes loss of skin colour in patches — developed her own beauty line, Cay Skin, after getting sunburned from an outdoor photoshoot in 2018. Her line of products which includes body oils, lip balms, and moisturisers with SPF was launched earlier this year.

Ingleton, who jetted into The Rock in February to share her wealth of knowledge at the Jamaica Observer Beauty Summit, launched Rose MD — a skincare line infused with a blend of fruit extracts native to Jamaica — in 2019.

Ingleton shared with SO2, "It was really fun to do. But mostly it was exciting to have two Jamaican women beauty founders sharing and celebrating each other." Cheers to that!

The Rock's talent was on full display at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade as Grammy Award-winning Jamaican artistes Sean Paul and Ziggy Marley performed their hits Temperature and Music is Everything, respectively. The parade — a three-hour spectacle which travels around Manhattan and ends outside the Macy's Herald Square flagship — returned to its usual pomp and circumstance after a few years of scaled-back events due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Mariah Carey, the unofficial Queen of Christmas, closed out the parade, performing her holiday anthem All I Want for Christmas Is You.
