SO2 JUL 16

First Things First…

American actress and author Robinne Lee, star of films such as National Security, Deliver Us From Eva, Hitch and Seven Pounds, sat down with We Inspire Women principal, Cortia Bingham, to talk insight on her book, The Idea of You. The interview took place at the Hyatt Ziva in Montego Bay on Wednesday, July 12, where Lee is vacationing with 36 of her cousins. Lee whose parents are ‘Rock’ born uses every opportunity to rep her Jamaican heritage, even boasting of finding breadfruit in Paris, France, where she now resides, to accompany her many cans of ackee she brought over during the move.

Then…

Etienne Maurice, founder of WalkGood LA and son of Jamerican award-winning actress Sheryl Lee Ralph, is now engaged! And yes, his long-time girlfriend, now fiancée, is almost family!

Stephanie Wash, a journalist at ABC News, and niece of Rock habituée American actress Victoria Rowell, was in total surprise at the proposal which took place on a New York City rooftop adorned with roses and candles on Thursday, July 6. The ultra-chic intimate gathering, planned to perfection by Maurice, was attended by immediate family members and close friends.

The date was not by happenstance! July 6 marks the anniversary of their first meeting at Rowell’s house two years ago. Ralph, who is best friends with Rowell, shared in an exclusive interview with Essence magazine, “Two years ago on July 6, my dear friend Victoria Rowell called me and said, ‘My niece has just met Etienne, and there’s something special happening.’ Now, exactly two years later, our family is expanding as Etienne has proposed to Stephanie. I couldn’t be happier.”

SO2 raises a toast to the ‘Rock’ solid family to be!
