Sanmerna Foundation donates J$700,000 in cricket gear to St Jago High

KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Sanmerna Foundation has donated close to J$700,000 worth of cricket gear to the cricketers of St Jago High School, reinforcing its commitment to youth development through sport.

The donation, which includes essential training and competition equipment, is expected to significantly enhance the school’s cricket programme by ensuring that student-athletes have the tools they need to properly develop their skills.

School officials welcomed the contribution, noting that access to quality equipment plays a critical role in athlete performance, confidence, and long-term development.

The Sanmerna Foundation said the initiative forms part of its wider mission to empower young people across Jamaica by investing in education, sport, and community development. By supporting grassroots and school-based sporting programmes, the foundation aims to create opportunities for youth to grow both on and off the field, using sport as a pathway to discipline, teamwork, and personal achievement.
