Tivoli rally to hold Mt Pleasant
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Tivoli Gardens rallied to hold Mount Pleasant FA to a 1-1 draw in their Jamaica Premier League (JPL) second round rescheduled game played at the Edward Seaga Sports Complex on Wednesday.
Mount Pleasant could have cut into Montego Bay United’s lead at the top of the standings but are on 46 points, still five points adrift, while Tivoli Gardens are still in 10th place on 30 points.
The Theodore Whitmore-coached Mount Pleasant FA took an early lead when Jahshaun Anglin scored from the penalty spot in the ninth minute for his second goal of the campaign.
Alton Lewis, however, grabbed a point for Tivoli Gardens when he scored in the 72nd minute, his third goal of the season.
Two more rescheduled games will be played on Thursday, Portmore United hosts Waterhouse FC at Ferdie Neita Park and defending champions Cavalier SC and Molynes United will meet at Stadium East.
