Award-winning artist Chanell Angeli Skyers and author and poet Mario Anthony Reyes Tie the Knot @ Trident Castle, Port Antonio

In a fairy-tale celebration of love and creativity, Atlanta-based award-winning artist Chanell Angeli Skyers and accomplished author Mario Anthony Reyes joined hands in holy matrimony on Saturday, October 14. The picturesque Trident Castle in Port Antonio, Jamaica, overlooking the country’s iconic Blue Mountains, and crystal blue waters were the backdrop for their enchanting wedding ceremony.

The union of these two accomplished artists marked a remarkable moment as they began a new chapter in their lives together. Surrounded by family and close friends, the couple exchanged heartfelt vows, promising to support and uplift each other in their personal and professional journeys.

Chanell Angeli Skyers, whose father, Vincent Skyers, is from Port Antonio, Jamaica, and her mother Brenda Bishop Thompson’s family is from Barbados and Grenada, where great uncle Maurice Bishop was former prime minister of Grenada. Chanell, a renowned mixed media artist, uses natural materials, including metal and wood, to create three-dimensional pieces and is known for her striking and emotive paintings. She has garnered accolades from art critics and collectors alike. Her ability to convey deep emotion through her work has earned her a special place in the art world in the United States.

A celebrated author, award-winning poet, dynamic speaker, and fatherhood advocate, Mario Anthony Reyes, born in the Bronx and of Puerto Rican descent, has touched readers’ hearts with his evocative storytelling and thought-provoking poetry and narratives, including his book A Son with No Father is a Book with No Author.

The newly-weds are flanked by their bridal party (from left) Jeniffer Weldon, Devania Skyers, Tiara Lester, Mariana Torrealba, Bianca Skyers, Luis Ortiz, Robert Lopez, Jeffery Gardner, Jason Betances, and Eric Baez.
