Man shot dead in Coffee Ground
A man was shot and killed by a hold-up man during a robbery at Coffee Ground district in Clarendon Wednesday night.
He has been identified as Joseph Green, 31, of Porus, Manchester.
The Constabulary Communication Network (CCN) liaison officer for Clarendon reported that at about 11:30 pm, Green took a cab with the driver and a passenger aboard to take him home from a wake in Osbourne Store, Clarendon. On reaching Clarendon Park, the passenger allegedly pulled a handgun and the driver, who was apparently in collusion, turned the car around and went to Coffee Ground District. Green was robbed of cash and jewellry by the men and then shot dead. The body was removed to the morgue for postmortem.
Infant drowns in tank
The body of an 18 month-old infant, Jerome McDowell, was found in a tank at his home in Red Ground district, St Catherine on Wednesday.
The CCN’s liaison officer for St Catherine South reported that at about 4:40 pm, Jerome and his mother were at home. She reportedly fell asleep and when she awoke, she discovered him missing. She went in search of him and found his body in a fish tank at the rear of the house. The body was removed to the morgue for postmortem.
