Inaugural National Bob Marley Secondary Schools Debate Competition
The inaugural Bob Marley Secondary Schools’ Debate Competition will commence with eliminations in the central region (Manchester, St Elizabeth and Clarendon) on Monday, November 23, at the Cecil Charlton Hall in Mandeville beginning at 9:00 am. Throughout the competition, teams from more than 40 secondary schools islandwide will debate moots based on the theme: “Bob Marley, His Work and Legacy”.
Eliminations in the eastern region (Kingston and St Andrew, St Thomas and St Catherine) will take place from November 26-27 at the Louise Bennett Garden Theatre in Kingston, followed by additional elimination in the central region on December 1 at the St Mark’s Anglican Church Hall. Northern region (St Mary, St Ann and Portland) and western region (Trelawny, St James, Hanover and Westmoreland) will have eliminations at the Port Maria Civic Centre in St Mary on December 2 and at the Montego Bay Civic Centre on December 8 respectively. The finals will take place during the birthday celebrations
for the reggae icon in February 2010.
