Twilight lovers no longer in the dark

People Post

After months of speculation, Robert Pattinson has finally confirmed he is dating his Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart.

The actors, who have been dating since last year, were due to make their first public appearance as a couple at Sunday’s Bafta Film Awards, but ended up arriving separately.

Pattinson, 23, was proudly cheering from the audience when his American girlfriend, 19, was named as the winner of the Bafta Rising Star accolade at the star-studded ceremony at the Royal Opera House.

While Stewart attended the Elle Style Awards alone last night, Pattinson was busy working all day on his new film Bel Ami.

Romance rumours have surrounded the couple since the first Twilight movie came out in late 2008.

Their sizzling chemistry convinced ‘Twi-hard’ fans they were an item and was often commented on by their co-stars.

Catherine Hardwicke, who directed the first film, said: ‘In terms of what Kristen told me directly, it didn’t happen on the first movie. Nothing crossed the line while on the first film. ‘I think it took a long time for Kristen to realise, “OK, I’ve got to give this a go and really try to be with this person.”‘

Hardwicke admitted she noticed the chemistry between the pair during filming, but warned Pattinson off Stewart, because she was 17 at the time, which would make her underage in several US states.

She said: “After I cast him, I told Rob, ‘Don’t even think about having a romance with her. She’s under 18. You will be arrested.”‘

The couple repeatedly denied rumours of a romance and, until last Spring, Stewart was dating long-term boyfriend Michael Angarano.

Stewart and Pattinson were rumoured to have finally gotten together when they filmed the first Twilight sequel New Moon last summer.

Lewis Hamilton gets back his Doll

Just weeks after his romance ended with Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger, the couple appear to have had a change of heart.

Lewis, 25, and Nicole, 31, split in January after 20 months together to concentrate on their careers.

But yesterday the glamorous couple were spotted openly kissing in Hollywood.

And it seems Nicole couldn’t contain her joy as she dropped a broad hint that wedding bells may be on the cards.

‘They took a tough decision and both regretted calling it off almost immediately,’ a source told The Sun.

When asked if she was looking for anything in particular while browsing clothes in a Los Angeles boutique, brunette beauty Nicole replied: ‘This year — my wedding dress.’

Britney Spears test-drives Maserati; can her allowance stretch?

When Britney Spears walked into the Maserati dealership, she must have caused a lot of excitement.

As a multi-millionaire singer, she is just the kind of customer a luxury sports car salesman dreams of.

Britney, wearing a mustard yellow polo-neck, was soon spotted enjoying a test drive of a custom black Maserati.

The 28-year-old sat in the passenger seat as she was shown the $100,000 car’s best features.

But while the keen salesman might have impressed Britney, it’s Jamie Spears he needs to talk to. The singer can’t even withdraw cash from the hole in the wall without her father’s permission.

GaGa on GaGa: “I consider myself quite the lady”

She’s renowned for her eccentric clothing and preference to wearing underwear in public.

But in a new interview, flamboyant singer Lady GaGa proves she’s a living contradiction as she insists she’s ‘quite the lady’.

The 23-year-old singer, real name Stefani Germanotta, makes the declaration in a revealing new interview with Q magazine, which sees the pop star posing topless.

The Poker Face star poses in little but a pair of spiky black trousers and metal chains around her neck in the simple shoot, which took place last December, just weeks before Gaga was diagnosed with ‘exhaustion’.

Despite regularly flashing the flesh on stage, GaGa says she’s more traditional than people realise.

She said: “Well, I believe in certain institutions: cooking, serving dinner, taking care of my family. So I consider myself quite the lady.”

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson leave the Bafta after-partyat the Grosvenor House Hotel at midnight on Sunday.
