Show must go on for Leona Lewis

She sings through the pain following love split

With her hair teased into a wild mane, and a mask-like layer of make-up, Leona Lewis hid her pain in a glamorous performance in Glasgow Sunday night. The Bleeding Love singer braved the stage at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre hours after it was revealed her relationship with childhood sweetheart Lou Al-Chamaa had ended.

Wearing a studded leather mini-dress and thigh-high boots, the singer put her troubles behind her, and didn’t disappoint her Scottish fans despite her private heartbreak.

For the X Factor winner-turned-superstar, it seems the pressures of fame proved too much, and her jet-setting career put a massive strain on their relationship, finally forcing them apart.

Alarm bells first rang when Lou, a former electrician-turned-Sony Music talent scout, failed to show up to many of her gigs, only attending one early on in the tour.

The singer’s hectic work schedule, plus the pressure of preparing for her current UK tour, are said to be the key factors behind her split from Al-Chamaa. Leona’s spokesman refused to comment on the reports, but a friend close to the star confirmed to Mail Online that the relationship had hit the rocks.

According to insiders, Leona is devastated at the thought of being single, having revealed in previous interviews that Lou was the one. Ever the professional, the Bleeding Love singer carried on with her Labyrinth tour on Friday night at London’s O2 Arena for 12,000 fans after Lou failed to show up to her Wednesday night gig.

Is that you, Buffy?

Sarah Michelle Gellar looks painfully thin just nine months after giving birth to her first child

In her role as Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Sarah Michelle Gellar and her curves gained an army of fans.

However, there was little evidence of the kick-boxing character the programme’s followers adored as the 33-year-old left a beauty salon in Los Angeles at the end of last week.

Just nine months after the birth of her first child, Charlotte Grace, the actress appeared to be thinner than she was pre-pregnancy. Gellar — who is married to 24 actor Freddie Prinze Jr — wore a strapless printed silk dress which revealed her bony chest and deflated bust. Perhaps the stresses of being a first-time mother have taken their toll. As well as tending to baby Charlotte, the actress has continued to work since giving birth.

Red-Hot Rihanna

Rihanna dazzled in Barbados last week in a teeny gold bikini as she cooled off in the pool. The R&B singer was enjoying some much-needed R&R before heading off to the North American leg of her world tour.

Rihanna was also sporting a radical new bright red and black hairdo, cropped short at the sides with a cockatoo-looking quaff smoothed over to the side and some huge 80s door knocker-style hoop earrings.

She had a whirlwind couple of days, landing in her hometown last Wednesday, before jetting out just two days later to catch her boyfriend, Los Angeles Dodgers star, Matt Kemp, play at Fenway Park against the Boston Red Sox. ‘I feel so comfortable and it’s so easy,’ the 22-year-old told the July issue of Elle Magazine. ‘I have such a chaotic life, but at the end of the day, that is just my peace.’
