Britney Spears’s camp has hit back at accusations the pop star abused her two young sons.

Former part-time security worker Fernando Flores contacted the LA County Department of Children and Family Services about the singer’s treatment of Sean Preston, four, and Jayden James, three. He made a string of allegations about her parenting in a tabloid newspaper, claiming she whipped one of her sons with a belt and forced another to eat food they were allergic to earlier this year.

But Flores has been branded a “disgruntled” and “opportunistic” former employee by sources close to the star, with another insider telling TMZ: “The allegations made by Fernando Flores are absurd.” Children Services are believed to have investigated — as they are required to do under Californian law — and determined the claim had no merit.

“Social workers visited Britney’s house recently about the alleged abuse allegations. Anytime anyone makes a report to child protective services, a welfare check is required to be made under law to further investigate,” a family source is quoted as telling Radar Online.

“It doesn’t matter who has made the claim, or how outlandish it may seem. During the visit by officials, there was absolutely no signs of abuse,” the source added. “The boys are happy, well-adjusted toddlers that love their mama, and Britney is fiercely protective of them.”

The 28-year-old Toxic singer, who yesterday visited Marmalade Cafe with her father Jamie, is still under a court appointment conservatorship and is said to rarely spend time with her sons alone.

It certainly isn’t third time lucky in love for Frasier star Kelsey Grammer.

The star is splitting from his wife of nearly 13 years, Camille Donatacci, confirming the news today on his Twitter account.

“Hello everyone thank you for ur support and yes it’s true Camille and I are divorcing. I ask U 2 respect our privacy,” Grammer’s message said. Donatacci, a former playboy model, filed for divorce from Grammer in a Los Angeles court yesterday citing irreconcilable differences.

She is seeking primary physical custody of their daughter Mason, eight, and five-year-old son Jude, as well as spousal support. The couple married in 1997 and their two children were born via a surrogate mother. The two were last pictured together at the Tony awards ceremony earlier this month.

Pilot Angelina Jolie likes to fly low with Shiloh as her passenger

Angelina Jolie gave her daughter Shiloh a high-flying thrill ride in LA on Tuesday when she took her along on a flight lesson. She was in the pilot’s seat with an instructor by her side, while the four-year-old was strapped into a safety seat in the back of the tiny plane. It has been reported that Angelina, 35, who received her pilot’s licence in 2005, has already promised Shiloh lessons of her own.

Angelina recently said that she encourages her eldest biological child to embrace her tomboy style. On Thursday the actress flew down to Mexico (she wasn’t the pilot that time), to promote her new movie Salt. She plays the role of Evelyn Salt, a CIA officer accused of being a Russian spy.
