Hit the deck…
On some great floor pillows. It’s the holidays and the kids are all over the house, wearing down the furniture, especially the boys, so a great idea for seating options is floor pillows. They can be moved around easily, they can take the wear and tear and they launder well. Floor pillows are great for boys’ rooms and are very easy to make, as you’re essentially stitching straight lines.
If this is a project you’re going to undertake, just remember to choose really durable heavyweight fabrics that launder well, like denims, calico and thick cottons. Sunbrella-type outdoor fabrics are also a great option, the only drawback being that they aren’t very soft on the skin.
For this project you will:
* Make the pillow to your dimensions
* Make the pillow case/cover, with either a zipper closure or an envelope fold so that it can be easily removed for cleaning
* Then lounge and enjoy!
You can do covers in different fabrics to achieve different looks. Another great idea is to use two different fabrics/patterns for either side, to make your pillow reversible.
Have fun with this one and enjoy.
