Cocktails with… Arnella Chin

Style Observer

The petite dynamo that is Arnella Chin, Track Price Plus Operations Manager, has lots to share about her plans for Fashion’s Night Out (FNO). Cocktail in hand and styled to perfection, she’s sitting at the Spanish Court Hotel on a cool Monday afternoon… here’s what she has to say.

What are you sipping?

The Appleton Reserve Voguista, it’s the official FNO cocktail?

And what do you think about the cocktail?

I love it… it’s refreshing, it’s perfect for shopping and even for a day on the beach.

Socialite or homebody?

Socialite, definitely.

Where do you frequent?

I love Bin 26 because they have a superb selection of wines, and of late I spend Friday nights partying at Privilege for Über.

Flats or stilettos?

Stilettos. I’m short, so they help to add height.

What’s your style?

Chic-sophisticated.

Who does your hair?

Traci Stewart, who works from home.

Who does your nails?

Tricia Rankin, who does house calls.

What’s in your clutch?

My BlackBerry, my keys, my lipgloss, a hairclip, my lipstick and eyeliner.

What perfume are you spraying?

Magnetism by Escada.

When you’re not at work, where’s the best place to find you?

I’m either chilling on the verandah and enjoying a glass of wine with my mum Roma and dad Xavier or I’m in Portie, San San in particular, with family and friends.

What’s your idea of the perfect date?

A romantic dinner at a fabulous restaurant — and by that I mean one with an exquisite wine list — where he and I would share good conversation, laughs and of course, great food.

What’s your idea of the perfect man?

I definitely want to be with someone who is my best friend… one who I can talk to about anything and who loves me for who I am and most important, someone who enjoys my company.

What’s your latest obsession?

It’s always been my obsession… travelling. I think it’s a great learning experience that adds character.

TV or a good book?

Neither… the Internet, it’s my resource tool and I Google everything that I’m interested in learning about.

Who or what inspires you?

My parents. They have taught both my sister and me how to be respectful, hard-working and independent ladies.

What’s on your iPod?

Taylor Swift, Sean Paul, Jay-Z and Beyoncé and I love, love Usher!

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given?

‘Never regret the past, but use it as a learning experience to make better decisions in the present.’

What projects are you currently working on?

I’m working on expanding the Track Price Plus product offerings and promoting our sports betting product, notably slot machines, in all our betting shops.

And 10 years from now?

I would like to have Track Price Plus Betting Lounges all across the Caribbean.
