My Kingston – Prince Zimboo

Style Observer

What are your earliest memories of Kingston?

The first time I heard of Kingston was on a cassette that servant in the palace did get. Then when on island me arrive, driver swerve from pothole … me glad me survive.

What do you miss when you are not in Kingston?

In Jamaica, Kingston is the melting pot of what’s musically hot. Crazy vibes this place got. It’s not all about evading gunshot. The inspiration it gives is what I miss the most… that and the fact that compared to other parishes, there’s less ghost. You’d have thought it was the other way around with murder rate said to be higher in Kingston, they found!

What are your favourite home comforts?

Here in Jamaica I had a dog trained to sit, stay, and bring drinks on tray, but it ran away… but it has worked out…Since then I have retained control of a television remote.

And your funniest moment?

Heh… I don’t even know. Probably the time I thought cow itch (poison ivy) was peppermint or woman pull off my pants at show… too many things come to mind I find (lol)

What would you do if you were mayor (of Kingston) for a day?

If I were mayor for a day, I’d give cellphones away to potential wives and bar all other incoming or outgoing numbers, except mine, until my love they all find… I’m sure they’d be fine. Also, I would cook them porridge…. cause I think it would be cool for them to say to their friends “hey, Mayor Zimboo cooked me porridge.” I would also arrest all ‘lepricons’ and outlaw skin bleaching ’cause it’s wrong teaching… Heh!

Share with us the title of the last book you read.

Animal Farm

What are your middle names?

Heh… good question.

And the last bit of music that stirred your soul?

White & Nerdy — Weird Al Yankovic / Nah Lef Joe – Captain Barkey.

What was your last bit of retail therapy?

I bought new fabric for wife to make gown, she took it, jumped on bus… nowhere to be found.

Which cologne are you currently splashing?

My natural fragrance legit, but my Onion cologne ladies crying for it.

What is your preferred beverage?

Coconut water: in it no fish have made ‘splish splish’ .

What was your most memorable meal in Kingston?

Wally’s Pan Chicken at the gas station in Manor Park… he proved to me not all Kingston roadside chicken vendors roast food that used to bark… Heh!

What are your current projects?

Ask me no questions I’ll tell you no lies! It’s a surprise! HEH! In Europe wives say me sweet like syrup. A lot of new material to add to your listening and viewing cereal. Production/collaborations with super-producer Sani Showbizz and his artists Alfredo, Ned Chigins’, Asani, and Vlad… maaaaaddd! Watch for me on Me an Mi Kru…the Zim-poster I will slew! And also, the season Finale of the Ity and Fancy Cat show… good to go!

New music videos for you : Say Heh! Lightswitch! Zimboouicy! It’s gonna be juicy 🙂

What upsets you?

When step in poop and between toes it goes. Also, chickens: they have breast, but no nipples? What gives?

Share your favourite spots on the island.

Portland is grand! Beautiful beaches and lush greenery that outreaches. Me like there a lot, and also, anywhere there is a Miss Jamaica is pretty hot: Hope Gardens is also beautiful but the Zoo is not full… seems it went into regression before the recession. Needs to be revived!

Share some places in your black book.

I chill in secluded locations with wives of all nations (wink)

If I state where many potential wives may appear causing catfight, which is not right. Heh!

What’s your advice to a first-time visitor to Kingston?

Relax… everything is taxed. Heh! It’s a place full of hidden gems…not half as bad as you see on the news internationally.

Don’t believe everything you hear, you hear! Come check it out!

What’s your philosophy?

Smile and the world smiles back at you.
