Wray & Nephew brings out Mavado
MEDIA pratitioners were in for a surprise at Monday night’s annual appreciation event hosted by the ‘blenders of fine rums and spirits since 1825’, J Wray & Nephew.
The venue was the Jamaica Pegasus’ Talk of the Town, which was transformed to match the Black and White Affair theme.
Members of the media , who for the most part stuck to the black and white dress code, took to the dance floor, packing it to capacity as the night’s DJ, Kurt Riley — The Party Animal — unleashed a steady stream of hits, flowing from the 1970s to the present.
But for some, the excitement would heighten with the entrance of the man from the Gullyside, deejay Mavado. He later took to the stage which saw a cluster of cellphones and cameras being raised to capture the moment. He did not disappoint. Don’t Worry, Gyal a Mad Ova, Roof Top and of course, Stulla, were among his hits which saw the eager audience singing along with the popular singjay.
Wray & Nephew’s Andrew Pryce, Christine Wood, Judith Douglas and Carlene Walters were among the able group of hosts who ensured that everything was in place for this annual event.
