Yendi joins Digicel family
DIGICEL has added a new member to its list of brand ambassadors — Miss Universe 2010 first runner up, Yendi Phillipps. The announcement was made at the telecommunications company’s Head Office in New Kingston during a presentation to Yendi on Friday.
Yendi joins an already exciting line-up of some of Jamaica’s most talented artistes and sporting personalities who are brand ambassadors for Digicel. Gospel artiste Jermaine Edwards, Radio disc jock Bambino; dancehall’s ‘Certified Diva’ Tifa; Digicel Rising Star 2010 winner Dalton Harris and reggae sensation I-Octane are artistes who have signed to the company. Sprint queen Shelly-Ann Fraser and the fastest man in the world and Sprint champion, Usain Bolt are also signed to Digicel.
Commenting on becoming a brand ambassador, Yendi expressed that, “I have been associated with the Digicel family for over two years and I’m happy to be a part of such a successful organisation. I think that Digicel is testament to having a vision and implementing your vision, which is similar to my life’s mantra. I am proud to be officially named a brand ambassador.”
Yendi is the winner of the Miss Jamaica World 2007 beauty pageant, as well as the 2010 Miss Jamaica Universe pageant. She represented Jamaica at the Miss Universe 2010 pageant in Las Vegas earlier this year. She was the first runner-up behind Mexico.
“Today we are excited to be among royalty”, said Donovan White, head of marketing at Digicel. Yendi is no stranger to the Digicel family having hosted Digicel Rising Stars for the 2008 and 2009 seasons and today we are happy to sign her to our family as a brand ambassador and welcome her to Jamaica’s bigger, better network.”
