Clarification
In the article named “Blue Mountain Coffee Under Threat” published in the the Business Observer on February 16, 2011 and in the article named “Japanese grinding down coffee prices”, published the Wednesday prior, Mr Errol South, farmer from the Clifton Mount area in St Andrew, was quoted as saying that the price for coffee fell from $3,000 to $1,500 per box. The Coffee Industry Board would like to correct this statement and advise that the first payment for Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee is $1,500 and the second payment, which will be made upon the completion of the sales of the coffee, will be a minimum of $800 per box. The first payment for High Mountain Coffee is $1,000 per box and the second payment a minimum of $600 per box.
