Elderly man dies after being hit by minibus

ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — An elderly man from Central Village in St Catherine died as result of injuries he received after being hit by a minibus on the Mandela Highway this morning.

He has been identified as 83-year-old Ivan Donalds of Windors Heights in the parish.Reports from the Central Village police are that about 5:25 am, Donalds was walking across the road when he was allegedly hit by a Toyota Hiace minibus travelling along the highway.The police said he was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
