General Elections: Dwayne Vaz wins in Westmoreland Central

WESTMORELAND, Jamaica — The People’s National Party’s (PNP) Dwayne Vaz has won the Westmoreland Central seat in the 2025 General Election, based on preliminary results.

Vaz tallied 9,916 votes while the Jamaica Labour Party’s (JLP) George Wright secured 8,385 votes. Kathleen Angela Greenwood of Jamaica Progressive Party secured 39 votes and Donn Avan Orlando Foote of INDA secured 38 votes.

In 2020, Wright defeated Vaz with 53.76 per cent of 15,678 votes casted.
