DJ Jahmar releases Dancehall Ranger rhythm project
DJ Jahmar has released the Dancehall Ranger rhythm, which features a compilation that pays homage to his late father — sound system icon Papa Ranger.
Premièring on November 7 through Shinealous Records/Twelve Tribes Entertainment and distributed by Symphonic Distro, the project bridges eras of dancehall as it unites veterans and rising stars on a pulsating rhythm.
The line-up includes Cutty Ranks, Bramma, Wasp, Galaxy P, Fantan Mojah, Badda General, Fire Lion, and Ninja Ford (also called Sir Ford).
From street anthems to conscious calls, every track commands attention and moves the crowd — true to the essence of Jamaican dancehall.
“This project is deeply personal. My father, Papa Ranger, was the inspiration behind my name and my journey in reggae. The Dancehall Ranger rhythm represents his legacy, the strength of our culture, and the unity that dancehall music brings to people worldwide,” DJ Jahmar told the Jamaica Observer.
The first two singles — Top Shottaz and Guh Dung — have ignited excitement across streaming platforms, surpassing 100,000 streams in just weeks.
DJ Jahmar, a towering figure in Arizona’s music landscape, not only heads the state’s acclaimed ‘12 Tribes’ sound system, but also commands respect as an industry icon on the club scene.
With a repertoire that blends his heritage of dancehall and reggae, DJ Jahmar has graced the stages of the biggest festivals and shows, captivating audiences with his infectious beats and vibrant performances.
