Although none of her family members were affected by the recent passing of Hurricane Melissa, Minister Marion Hall says the devastation that she saw made her decide to get involved in the One Love Jamaica Rebuild Concert.

The event, which takes place Saturday, December 6 at the Faith Centre in Sunrise, Florida, will see proceeds benefiting hurricane relief efforts.

“I got involved because I am Jamaican and when one hurts, we all hurt too. None of my family was affected by the hurricane, but I must help those affected, go get back on their feet,” Minister Hall told Observer Online on Thursday.

The gospel event will also feature performances from several acts including Minister Carlene Davis, Papa San, Kevin Downswell, Omari, Sharon Wiles, and Radarius Legacy.

Asked what fans can expect from her performance, Minister Hall said, “You can expect me doing fewer original songs of mine and more old time Pentecostal songs that Jamaicans love to sing along to. When the holy ghost moves, that’s when we move as ministers of the gospel.”

In a move to own her catalogue, Minister Marion Hall says she is working on a new album, which she produced.  The album, which is titled I’m Still Standing, will feature musicians including Dean Fraser, Michael Reeves and others.

“Yes, I’m doing an album, and I am thinking of titling it I’m Still Standing. Since I have been saved, I’ve been through hell and back. I have experienced depression, anxiety attacks, homelessness here in America and having issues with my travel documents. But I have stood firm in my faith,” Minister Hall disclosed.

She added, “The album is a story, it’s about how I was bound and released.”
