As the holiday calendar wound down, and New Year’s celebrations unfolded, #FrenchmenFaithfuls and freshers flocked to Caymanas Fairways for Climax, the annual New Year’s Day gala.
While this year’s event lacked some of the regular pomp and circumstance that many have grown accustomed to, it compensated with good chi, endless vibes, and solidarity. The January 1 staging, which took place mere months after Hurricane Melissa caused catastrophic damage upon landfall in Jamaica, was a tribute to Jamaica’s spirit, with décor and set-up teams Shikima Hinds Events, Starlight Productions, and Phase 3 Productions delivering an elevated, nature-inspired celebration shaped by the courage of the island’s Swallowtail Hummingbird, the power of our mountains, and the flow of our rivers.
