KINGSTON, Jamaica—Jamaica advanced to the final round of qualifying in the CONCACAF Women’s U-17 Championships after a gutsy 1-0 win over the previously unbeaten Honduras in their Group D game at Stadion Guillermo Prospero Trinidad in Oranjestad, Aruba on Monday.

Jamaica finished the round with 10 points, one more than Honduras with Guyana third with seven points.

In the must win game, Jamaica who ended with 10 players, were sent ahead in the 44th minute when Elizabeth Miller headed a corner past the Honduran goalkeeper as the Girlz chalked up a third straight win after drawing their opening game 2-2 against Guyana.

The Jamaicans played the last 33 minutes with 10 players after Ricquanna Richards was sent off in the 57th minute.

Jamaica went into the game third in the standing, on seven points and with a goal-difference of seven against Honduras who had won all three previous games and had a goal-difference of 19 and needed only a draw to advance.

In the final round, the top four teams will qualify for the 2026 U-17 FIFA Women’s World Cup, scheduled for Morocco in October.
