Showfa Express and Paymaster launch flat-rate parcel delivery service
Customers have been promised a more reliable and cost-effective way of sending and receiving packages through a new flat-rate parcel delivery service introduced by Showfa Express Limited and Paymaster Jamaica.
Showfa One, which was officially launched on Thursday at Paymaster’s head office on Molynes Road in St Andrew, will allow customers to send and receive packages that fit within a standard package envelope through four selected Paymaster locations at a flat rate of $690.
The participating Paymaster locations are Molynes Road; Burke Road in Spanish Town; and the Mandeville and May Pen branches.
Chief Executive Officer of Showfa Express Limited, Jamie Hall said the delivery service is geared towards providing customers with bang for buck.
“There are people who don’t have reliable transport or transportation costs, and the time can be prohibitive,” Hall said. “So Paymaster, being very good at moving money and Showfa, being very good at moving goods, the collaboration is aimed at creating just one more efficient thing for people in Jamaica.”
The Mandeville-based Showfa Express, which was established in 2023, currently operates across Manchester, St Elizabeth, Clarendon, St Catherine and the Corporate Area.
Hall said the company plans to extend the service to St Ann and St James before moving towards islandwide coverage by the end of the year.
Acting General Manager of Paymaster, Athinia Campbell said the partnership with Showfa Express aligns with the company’s goal of providing accessibility and convenience to its customers.
“This is another way of providing further convenience to our customer base, where we realise that moving things from place to place, documents and so on is a great need and it will provide an additional thing that customers can do for their one-stop experience at Paymaster,” she said.
Campbell said customers will now benefit from additional locations and extended hours for the drop-off and pick-up of packages.
Likewise, Angeline Barrett-Stewart, head of sales at Paymaster, noted that the partnership will be particularly beneficial for small entrepreneurs in delivering products to their customers at a flat rate.
“Currently there is a need for courier services and we see it in the changing economy, what’s happening in the economy now. Persons need a way to connect with not just their loved ones but also to do business and we think this provides an easy, more convenient cost-effective way for persons to get these tasks done,” she said.
Hall said the pilot programme of the delivery service has received positive feedback from his long-standing clients.
“They are excited, they are looking forward to introducing this to their customers as just one less variable in getting them to make the sale, because sometimes a delivery fee that’s a bit too high because of the distance, maybe the difference between the sale that you need to get your business to expand next month, and you staying the same size,” he said.
