KINGSTON, Jamaica—Fabrienne Foster set a new personal best and North Texas school record of 19.57 m to win the women’s weight throw at the American Conference Indoor Championships at the Crossplex in Birmingham, Alabama, on Friday.

Foster broke the previous school record of 19.25 m set in 2024 by Allison Stigarll and also eclipsed her own previous best of 19.09 m by almost half a metre.

Corey Ottey of the University of South Florida was third in the men’s high jump with 2.05 m.

At the Big 12 Indoor Championships being hosted by Texas Tech University, Annishka McDonald improved her personal best and school record in the women’s high jump with 1.84 m.

Kansas State freshman Shanniqua Williams was ninth with 1.73 m, while Brandon Lloyd of Arizona State was eighth in the men’s weight throw with 20.17 m.

Shantae Foreman of Clemson University was sixth in the women’s long jump with 6.10 m at the ACC Indoors at the Track at New Balance in Boston.

At the SEC Indoors at Texas Tech in College Station, Texas, Shaquena Foote of the University of Georgia was disqualified in the prelims of the women’s 400m.

Foote was deemed to have stepped over the lane marker on the first lap.

Meanwhile, her teammate Dejanea Oakley advanced to the final after running 52.07 seconds.

Carleta Bernard of the University of Texas won her heat in the women’s 60 m in 7.25 seconds to advance to Saturday’s final.

It will be her second individual final after she also qualified for the 200m from Thursday’s first round.

At the Big Sky Indoor Championships being held at the University of Idaho, Daniel Beckford of Northern Colorado advanced to the final of the men’s 60 m hurdle after running 7.89 seconds in the qualifying rounds on Friday, for second overall.
