From Deed to Key Investment and Housing Conference set for June 5 in South Florida

Leading Jamaican professionals, developers, investors, and industry experts will converge at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Sunrise – Sawgrass Mills on June 5, 2026 for the highly anticipated From Deed to Key Investment and Housing Conference.

The event promises to be a transformative conversation on land ownership, wealth creation, housing, and investment opportunities in Jamaica.

It is designed to address some of the most pressing issues affecting Jamaicans locally and abroad, particularly individuals with untitled family land, landowners with idle properties lacking development capital, and investors seeking opportunities within Jamaica’s dynamic real estate sector, according to the organisers in a press release.

Conceptualised as a bridge between land ownership and generational wealth, the conference will feature an impressive lineup of professionals traveling from Jamaica to South Florida specifically for the initiative.

The initiative has also received the endorsement of Oliver Mair, Consul General of Jamaica to Miami, who welcomed the conference as an important platform for strengthening diaspora engagement, investment, and economic development opportunities between Jamaica and overseas nationals.

Among the featured presenters is attorney Makeda Bramwell, who specialises in wills, trusts, estates, commercial and real estate law, and is also the owner of Cedars Estate. Bramwell will lead discussions on “Securing Your Title and How to Avoid Fraud,” providing critical legal insight for families seeking to protect and regularize inherited property assets.

Commissioned land surveyor Al Taylor will outline the practical processes involved in land surveying, boundary identification, and pegging, while explaining the steps communities and families with untitled land can take toward formalization and legal ownership.

Entrepreneurship and wealth strategist Cordell Williams, CEO of Transformational, will share insights on building wealth beyond land and housing, offering entrepreneurial strategies for attendees seeking alternative pathways to financial growth and legacy building.

The real estate segment will feature Jhanine Jackson of VM Group Property Services Limited, who will speak on Jamaica’s evolving property market and the growing opportunities available to investors and homeowners.

Developer and real estate investor Kevin Frith will also share insights on the transformation of St Thomas as Jamaica’s new frontier for development and investment opportunities.

Technology and infrastructure will also take centre stage with a presentation from Richard May, CEO of ECHOS Consulting and Powersource Jamaica, who will discuss how technology must increasingly be integrated into the way modern communities and structures are designed and built.

Further strengthening the conference’s focus on sustainability and resilience, Dr Leighton A Ellis, president-elect of the Jamaica Institution of Engineers (JIE), will deliver a presentation on “Future-Proof Construction and Resilient Structures.”

Closing the sessions will be David Cummings, vice president and head of real estate and project finance at Sygnus Capital, who will present “From Capital to Concrete,” exploring private partnership opportunities for landowners whose properties remain undeveloped due to limited financial resources. His presentation will focus on transforming dormant land assets into wealth-generating ventures and family legacies.

Organisers also noted that while entrepreneurs David Mullings and Gabrielle Gilpin-Hudson were initially scheduled to participate, prior professional commitments will regrettably prevent them from appearing at this staging of the conference.

In addition to the speaker sessions, approximately 15 exhibitors — including developers, realtors, and industry service providers — are already confirmed to participate, with organizers anticipating significant growth in exhibitor interest over the coming week. Attendees will have direct access to investment opportunities, development projects, and property offerings across Jamaica’s expanding real estate market.

According to conceptualiser Maxine Miller, interest in the initiative continues to build rapidly.

“The exhibitor list continues to grow daily, and we anticipate participation could easily double by next week. There is tremendous interest in connecting Jamaicans in the diaspora with the professionals, partnerships, and opportunities needed to transform land ownership into sustainable wealth creation,” Miller shared.

The From Deed to Key Investment and Housing Conference aims to serve as a catalyst for education, investment, partnerships, and empowerment by connecting attendees with the knowledge and resources needed to navigate land ownership, housing development, and real estate investment in Jamaica.
