Realjedii and Frassman Brilliant join forces on new single
Producer Realjedii and dancehall artiste Frassman Brilliant have teamed up for a new single titled Defiance, the lead track from Realjedii’s upcoming third compilation album.
“This collaboration with Frassman Brilliant came from a mutual place, being that we have musical chemistry working together. We spoke for a while before I sent him the instrumental, and the rest is history,” Realjedii told Observer Online recently.
Defiance was released on May 29 through Jedii Musiq and is distributed by ONErpm. An official music video is scheduled for release on May 31.
Realjedii revealed that the Defiance compilation project is currently shaping up to be a six-track EP, although the final lineup has not yet been fully confirmed.
“I am open to the right additions; because I don’t usually like to flood my jugglings with too many songs,” he said.
The project will also feature tracks from emerging acts, including Germany-based artiste Inti Ayvar Waltz and Dahdidah. Waltz contributes the song Live Your Life, which is expected to be released in June.
According to Realjedii, featuring newer talents on the project was a deliberate decision.
“You could say it’s a bit of a strategic move with the album lineup having more new emerging artists than my previous albums. However, this one is being led by Frassman Brilliant, who is well-known in the dancehall music space,” Realjedii reasoned.
Realjedii previously released projects, including Balla Riddim and Jama-piano.
“My intention to release this project at this time was to have new music for the summer vibes, and to also have more music in the space. I am always working on building my musical catalogue,” the producer disclosed.
“Realjedii has been a part of my team from the early days of my career, and we have worked on songs like Balla and African Beauty, and now Defiance. We also have songs that are not yet released,” said Frassman Brilliant.
He added that the song Defiance reflects his personal outlook and character.
“Defiance is just who I am and will always be, so I am just speaking from a real place as far as the song is concerned,” the artiste said.
