Cold World (Remix) taps global artistes

Kamani Records has released Cold World (Remix) featuring a slew of artistes from around the world. These include Don Husky, Triga Finga, Nature Ellis, Arcanjo Ras, Logic (UK), and Buddha Boy aka Bodhi.

The journey of Cold World (Remix) began in Kingston, where Don Husky and Triga Finga connected at Roe Summerz’s studio. According to Husky, he was initially approached on Instagram to be a part of the project before being flown in to record. During the session, producer Roe Summerz (Roel Powell) created the instrumental on the spot, while the artistes wrote and recorded their verses organically in a single sitting, capturing the raw and authentic energy that defines the record. The chorus was later completed in studio collaboratively by Buddha Boy aka Bodhi, Roe Summerz, and Don Husky, helping shape the final sound and direction of the track.

“Music has always been a universal language, and this song represents exactly that. No matter where we come from, or what we go through, everybody experiences moments where life feels cold. The message behind this record is that, even in those moments, there’s still connection, understanding, and hope,” Don Husky said.

What started in Jamaica quickly evolved into a truly global collaboration. Nature Ellis recorded his vocals in Jamaica, Arcanjo Ras contributed from Brazil, Logic recorded in the United Kingdom, and Buddha Boy aka Bodhi completed his contributions from Canada.

Each artiste on the track brings years of experience and cultural influence to the collaboration. Husky has spent more than 15 years building an international reputation, collaborating with acts such as Subatomic Sound System, Dub FX, Henry Fong, BBC 1Xtra, dancehall legend Ninjaman, and many more. Triga Finga remains a pioneering force within Japan’s reggae and dancehall scene, with a career spanning nearly two decades and collaborations including Popcaan. Nature Ellis continues to be recognised globally for his commanding stage presence and conscious reggae message, while Arcanjo Ras has become a leading figure in Brazil’s reggae and dancehall movement. Logic, founder of People’s Army, has established himself as an important voice within Europe’s conscious hip hop scene, while Buddha Boy aka Bodhi’s creative contributions helped shape the final direction of the record.
