4-day, 5-event Republic Weekend set to wow

Appleton Estate signs on as title sponsor

A four-day celebration of music, culture, and entertainment is set join Jamaica’s entertainment calendar this Heroes Weekend as Appleton Estate leads the charge for the inaugural staging of Republic Weekend.

Plantation Cove, in Ocho Rios, will play host from Friday, October 16, to Monday, October 19, 2026.

With Appleton Estate serving as title partner, Republic Weekend brings together five distinct events designed to give patrons an immersive north coast getaway filled with dancehall, Carnival, beach culture, brunch, and J’Ouvert-style celebrations.

The partnership reinforces Appleton Estate’s long-standing connection to Jamaican culture and its commitment to supporting experiences that bring people together.

Dominic Bell, communications manager at Appleton Estate, said the brand’s involvement reflects its enthusiasm for experiences that celebrate Jamaica’s spirit of togetherness.

“Republic Weekend presents an exciting opportunity to bring people together through the music, culture, and experiences that make Jamaica such a special place to celebrate. As title sponsor, Appleton Estate is proud to support this inaugural staging and help create a memorable Heroes’ Weekend experience for patrons. We look forward to seeing the event grow into a major fixture on Jamaica’s entertainment calendar,” said Bell.

Campari is also bringing its distinctive energy to the weekend, supporting the festivities and serving as title sponsor of Fanatic and Night Carnival, events that are set to bring the dancehall vibes with emerging dancehall talent that will kick off the celebrations and the Carnival spirit to the celebrations respectively.

Jerome Walters, brand manager at Campari, said the brand’s participation reflects its continued engagement with Jamaica’s vibrant entertainment scene.

“Entertainment is an important part of how people connect, express themselves, and create lasting memories. Republic Weekend brings together a dynamic mix of experiences, and Campari is excited to be part of a celebration that showcases the energy of Jamaican entertainment,” said Walters.

The inaugural Republic Weekend is the vision of Republic Enterprises Limited, which aims to establish the event as a major annual destination for Heroes’ Weekend, attracting patrons from across Jamaica, the wider Caribbean and the Diaspora.

Dr Mikhail “IQ” De Gale, managing director and director of marketing at Republic Enterprises Limited, said the concept was developed to bring several popular entertainment experiences together in one destination.

“We saw an opportunity to bring people together for a complete Heroes’ Weekend getaway built around music, culture and the experiences they already love,” said De Gale. “Through our individual events, we’ve seen how much people enjoy having a reason to travel, reconnect with friends, and celebrate. Republic Weekend brings that into one destination, with five distinct experiences over four days at Plantation Cove.”

The festivities begin on Friday, October 16, with Fanatic Festival, which will spotlight emerging dancehall acts Top Banks, Feloni, AI Milly, and C9. The event sets the tone for a weekend that places both established entertainment experiences and the next generation of Jamaican talent at the forefront.

The celebration continues with Rosé N’ Roses Fest, offering a different atmosphere for patrons, before the high-energy spectacle of Night Carnival adds its flair to the weekend.

Republic Beach Club will bring the beach experience into the mix, while Republic Bush, the festive water and paint event, closes the celebrations on Monday, October 19.

For De Gale, the variety is central to the event’s appeal. Each experience has its own identity, allowing patrons to curate their holiday while enjoying the convenience of having multiple events in one destination.

“The combination is what makes it exciting,” he explained. “Fanatic Festival, Rosé N Roses, Night Carnival, Republic Beach Club, and Republic Bush each bring their own personality. Together, they give patrons a weekend that moves through dancehall, brunch, Carnival, beach culture, and J’Ouvert, while also bringing visitors and business to the north coast.”

He also highlighted the importance of support from Appleton Estate and Campari, particularly as the event makes its debut.

“Appleton Estate coming on board as title sponsor is a strong vote of confidence in the vision for Republic Weekend. As a brand with deep Jamaican roots, it is a meaningful partner for an experience that celebrates our music, culture and hospitality,” De Gale said. “Campari’s support, including its title sponsorship of Fanatic Ochi, strengthens that partnership further. These brands bring resources, visibility, and experience that help us reach more people and deliver the weekend at the standard we’re aiming for.”

Beyond its first staging, the organisers envision Republic Weekend becoming an annual highlight, with continued investment in entertainment, production, and the overall patron experience. The goal is to build a celebration that encourages visitors to return year after year while creating opportunities for businesses and communities along Jamaica’s north coast.

Ultimately, the ambition is for patrons to leave with more than memories of the performances and parties.

“We want people to leave feeling that they made the right decision to spend their Heroes’ Weekend with us,” De Gale said. “Above all, we want patrons to feel connected and well looked after. Whether they came for one event or all five, they should feel that they were part of something special and already be talking about coming back next year.”
