BZR delayed! Concert postponed to December; patrons offered refunds

KINGSTON, Jamaica — BZR WKND Jamaica 2026 has been postponed from October 18 to December 20, following news that American rapper Cardi B will not be headlining the event as originally promoted.

In a statement issued to patrons and supporters, organisers attributed the postponement to circumstances beyond their control, while extending condolences to Cardi B and her family following the death of a loved one.

“First and foremost, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Cardi B and her family on the passing of their loved one. Our thoughts, prayers and deepest sympathies are with Cardi during this difficult time,” the statement read.

It followed days of speculation after the rapper’s publicly announced cancellation on October 8 and a follow-up video in which she maintained she was not at fault for the cancellation.

However, on Tuesday, the promoters insisted they had fulfilled their financial and contractual obligations and made every effort to deliver the highly anticipated event.

“From the outset, BZR WKND has approached this event with the utmost professionalism, good faith and commitment, including fulfilling our financial obligations in full and honouring our contractual commitments,” they said.

Acknowledging the disappointment likely to be felt by patrons, particularly those who had already secured tickets, accommodation and travel arrangements, organisers apologised for the inconvenience.

Despite the setback, the promoters have assured fans that the show will go on, promising an even bigger, star-studded experience when the event returns in December.

“One thing is certain: we will not let you down. A show will happen. Our vision has always been bigger than one artiste,” the statement said.

“BZR WKND is about bringing world-class entertainment, music, culture, and an unforgettable festival experience to Jamaica,” it added.

All tickets purchased for the original October 18 date will remain valid for the rescheduled event on December 20.

However, patrons who are unable to attend on the new date or who no longer wish to attend may request a refund by emailing eventsteamjamaica@kanoopays.com. Refund requests must include the purchaser’s full name, ticket purchase confirmation, order or transaction reference number, and the email address used to purchase the tickets.

Organisers said further instructions regarding refunds and the rescheduled event will be communicated through official channels.

A press conference is also expected to be held later this week to address questions surrounding the postponement and provide additional details about what patrons can expect in December.

“We are using this additional time to build an even bigger, star-studded experience worthy of our fans and the Caribbean stage,” the organisers said.

They thanked supporters for their patience and continued confidence in the event, reiterating their commitment to delivering a world-class entertainment experience in Jamaica.
