It’s Timeless!

It’s Timeless!

Armzhouse Records, Land Lawd Music collaborate on rhythm project

What initially started as co-producing songs for some of the biggest names in the dancehall space has morphed into a various artistes rhythm project.

Jamaican label Armzhouse Records has teamed up with overseas-based Land Lawd Music for the release of the six-song project Timeless rhythm.

Maurice Linton, who alongside Everton “Rado” Minott are the driving forces behind Armzhouse Records, explained how the joint collaboration with Land Lawd Music came about.

“Our label has been somewhat of a musical mentor to Ricardo Smith of Land Lawd Music. This journey began when we collaborated on singles for different artistes, so when we decided to commence work on the Timeless rhythm, it was just to create a body of work that stood the test of time — songs that could resonate with everyone and have a longer shelf life. This was a shared vision between both entities. The aim of the collaboration was to bring our creative ideas together, develop a strong body of work, and build upon the foundation of the Timeless rhythm project. By combining our experience, creativity, and passion for music, we wanted to create something meaningful,” Linton told the Jamaica Observer’s Splash recently.

Linton added: “Our previous collaborations have done well so there is a musical chemistry between both entities. We always deliver great work, so we decided to repeat the formula.”

The Timeless rhythm features the songs God and I by I-Octane, which was included on the dancehall artiste’s 2025 album of the same name, and for which a music video has now been released.

Apologies by chart-topper Turbulence; Born Fighter by Zagga, who is best known for his #1 hit My Destination; Calling On You by Frassman Brilli; Victory by Ras Shiloh and Norris Man; and Late Night by Mr Melody.

Linton said: “After hearing the rhythm, we knew that it would be one of those rhythms that would be played many years from now. It has a longevity sound. Hence, the reason it’s called Timeless. And getting the artistes involved was quite easy. From the moment they heard it, it’s like the lyrics and melodies just started to flow out of nowhere. Every artiste on the project gravitated to it with the right energy. The rhythm truly is Timeless.”

According to Linton, the success of I-Octane’s God and I single was what prompted his team to get other artistes involved.

“The first song that we released I-Octane’s song, which is on his album, and it accumulated more than one million streams on Apple Music. And with that kind of success, we decided to open up the project to other artistes and the quality of music that we got was well-received,” he disclosed.

Smith, who says the name of his label represents his entrepreneurial mindset, and whose ultimate goal is to one day earn a Grammy Award, says he is pleased with the feedback that the project has so far received.

“I think it’s a job well done. The feedback is great, both from the artistes and listeners. With a project like this we can see it growing more in the reggae space, thanks to an incredible line-up of artistes that we worked with,” said Smith.

The video for Apologies by Turbulence has now been released.
