Bad Sekki to make first US trip in November after securing visa

Popular Jamaican comedian and content creator Karlando “Bad Sekki” Bailey is set to travel to the United States for the first time on November 16 after securing a US visa earlier this month.

Bailey, who was previously denied a visa in March 2025, successfully reapplied this year and is now preparing for a 17-day trip across four American cities under the project Bad Sekki Goes to America, which will run from November 16 to December 2.

“I felt happy and really thankful that I got it. I tried last year and didn’t get it,” Bailey said.

According to Jason McNeish, CEO of Creative Factory which houses The Influence JA, travelling to the United States has long been a dream for the comedian, who was eager to depart almost immediately after receiving the good news.

“He wanted to go the next day after he got the passport but we wanted to make it a whole trip. He will be visiting four cities so it took a longer time to plan,” McNeish explained.

The visit will see Bailey reconnecting with relatives, creating content and exploring opportunities for professional development, including visits to production studios.

McNeish also revealed that discussions are underway to facilitate a possible engagement with Netflix, although arrangements have not yet been confirmed.

“We are making it a full experience, he’s going to of course connect with family and more importantly for me he is going to get some professional development as well, so we are looking at visiting a few
studios overseas and we are looking at Netflix,” he said.

For Bailey, one of the highlights of the upcoming trip will be visiting New York City’s famous Times Square, where he hopes to film a video he has envisioned for years.

“A just one video idea me have weh me really wah do from when, where I am in Time Square saying ‘New York’. That’s the main thing I am looking forward to,” he shared while laughing.

The comedian, who rose to prominence through humorous videos inspired by his experiences as a security guard, has become one of Jamaica’s popular social media personalities.

His upcoming trip will be documented through Bad Sekki Goes to America, giving followers a front-row seat to his first visit to the United States.
