Ikaya tackles loyalty and betrayal on new single ‘Trust’

International recording artiste Ikaya is exploring the complexities of trust, loyalty and betrayal in her thought-provoking new single, Trust, produced by Do Di Rite Thing Entertainment and Onscope Records.

The multifaceted entertainer is optimistic about the song’s potential, noting that its universal message and emotional depth could resonate with audiences both locally and internationally.

“I believe Trust is a very powerful and meaningful record because trust is one of the most valuable things you can give someone, yet it’s also one of the easiest things to destroy,” Ikaya shared.

“For me, the song goes beyond relationships. It speaks to human connections, loyalty, vulnerability and the emotional consequences of betrayal. When you genuinely trust someone, you’re allowing them into a part of your life where you feel safe enough to be vulnerable. And when that trust is broken, the damage sometimes goes much deeper than the betrayal itself,” she explained.

While the Waterhouse native is excited about the prospects of her latest release, she remains equally focused on the bigger picture: building a sustainable career, establishing ownership of her music and creating a lasting legacy.

As the chief executive officer of One Soul Music Group, Ikaya is embracing a new chapter in her musical journey, one that places greater emphasis on independence, entrepreneurship and long-term success.

For the singer, however, her ambitions extend beyond personal accomplishments. As a mother, she is determined to create opportunities and build a foundation that her daughter can one day inherit.

“I want her to understand the importance of hard work, independence, ownership and never allowing anyone to limit her dreams,” she said.

Reflecting on her journey, Ikaya described 2026 as a defining year in her career, marked by significant milestones and a renewed sense of purpose.

Among her proudest achievements was the establishment of her own record label and the release of her single Working Girl under the One Soul Music Group imprint.

“That was a significant moment for me because it represented not just my growth as an artiste but as a businesswoman taking greater ownership of my career,” Ikaya stated.

With her sights set on continued growth and international expansion, the singer is determined to build on that momentum while remaining true to the authenticity and substance that have defined her music.

Ikaya is currently promoting her latest singles, Trust and Vault, while working on new material with several top-flight producers.
