GE gets nod for new power plant at Petrojam
THE National Contracts Commission (NCC) has endorsed a US$2.1 million ($186 million) contract for General Electrics (GE) to supply and commission a new power plant at the Petrojam refinery in Kingston.
According to the NCC contract endorsements for the month of February, GE’s bid (through open tender) to provide a “turnkey contract for the design, equipment supply, installation and commissioning of a new electricity power facility at the Petrojam Refinery, Marcus Garvey Drive” was recommended.
The plant will likely provide Petrojam with its electricity needs and, depending on the technology used, will be able to generate one to two megawatts of electricity.
