Beenie Man gets bail

Wednesday, June 09, 2010

DANCEHALL artist Beenie Man was granted station bail today after being charged with assault occasioning bodily harm arising out of an incident where he is alleged to have assaulted fellow entertainer LA Lewis.

Beenie Man along with selector Rolexx were charged and given bail set at $100,000, his attorney Charles Gangasingh told the Observer.

"I secured bail for both of my clients this morning and Beenie Man is now on his way to France," Ganagsingh said.

The deejay is to embark on a 22-show European tour which will kick off in Paris. He is set to leave the island today.

He is accused of assaulting LA Lewis following the funeral of slain Voice Mail member O'Neil Edwards when LA Lewis reportedly ran into the back of Beenie Man’s spanking Audi Q 7. It is alleged that Beenie Man came out of his vehicle and physically accosted LA Lewis.

The madness continues! Why would someone who assaults another party in an accident be allowed bail just so that he can catch a flight because he has shows scheduled ?
This just goes to show that the entire justice system needs an overhaul. Until we prove to these guys who feel that they can flaunt their bail money and walk around as if we owe them something, there will be no respect for the law.
It tells the world how lawless we are in Jamaica. He should not be allowed entry to France !

Don't worry, tomorrow's headline will read: Beenie Man turned away at France airport! The UK/Europe almost always follows the lead of the US so let's see how long it takes for them to revoke his visa there.

Interesting. Years ago when Beenie used to tek a ol' Lada taxi to record at penthouse, his drivah ran into the back of one of the producers Lexus (one of the first in Ja). Beenie had to shell out about US$500 just for one of the rear lights. How times have changed.

I wonder what or who gave Beenie the right to put his hand on anyone for that matter. I am so sick of the vigilante justice premise under which Jamaica is run. I guess Beenie thinks he is a Don or Area leader..lol ! He can now sell the spanking Audi Q 7 and procure a lawyer ... Good for him .. i just wish he had spent at least a night in jail .. He needs to be taught a lesson.

All these artists should be banned and locked up with the keys thrown away. What they spout is not culture but poison. I hope they are all banned from every country until they change their music, their posture and their hairstyles (and get rid of their stupid jewellery).

if it was my car i would still be hitting him.reading about it is not the same as seeing it.L.A. Lewis will do anything for attention. He was sitting on the window with his head outside the car while driving.he was told to stop he didnt until the accident. Then he started running his mouth that he could pay Beenieman for his car.

This is just so wrong and underscores the problem in our society, there is nothing worse than when a man start to believe his own hype.... at a funeral for a slain musician these 2 idiots have to bring the hype and stupidity, incidents like this damage credibility and result in performers being banned from other countries.... keep this up and pretty soon you guys will have to start working the hotel entertainment circuit and drive sunnys
