Appleton Estate employee found dead
ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica – An employee of the Appleton Estate in Siloah, St Elizabeth, was found dead this morning.
He has been identified as garage clerk Denlyn Dunkley.
According to police reports, about 5:00 am a janitor who works on the estate was walking along a dirt track immediately behind Dunkley’s house, which is also at Appleton Estate.
She reportedly discovered his nude body lying face down in a pool of blood with multiple chop wounds to his right shoulder and the back of his neck.
Dunkley’s death came just a month after his brother, 44-year-old Constable Rayon Dunkley, who was attached to the Maggotty Police Station, collapsed and died at his home in the parish while getting ready for work.
He was said to have had chronic issues with his heart and kidneys.
His 36-year-old brother, police say, was also a kidney patient.
People’s National Party councillor for the Siloah Division Audie Myers remembered Denlyn Dunkley as a hard-working man and a committed worker at Appleton Estate.
The St Elizabeth police say that no motive has yet been established for the killing.
“I am appealing to citizens to come forward and give the police whatever information they may have,” said Myers.
