Arrival time of US President Barack Obama nears
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The tarmac at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston is now abuzz with activities as members of the United States and Jamaica security services prepare for the arrival of President Barack Obama.
The drone from the propellers of the US military aircraft on the tarmac and the flashing lights of service vehicles have added to the excitement now in the air.
Scores of local and international media personnel have also taken position in the designated area, awaiting the moment when history will be created with Obama’s setting his feet on Jamaican soil for the first time.
Members of the official greeting party have started to arrive in another section of the tarmac but it’s still not yet certain what time Barack will be arriving.
President Obama left Andrews Airbase at approximately 3:30 this afternoon.
