Ashley Ann Foster gets nod in St James Central
ST JAMES, Jamaica — People’s National Party (PNP) delegates in St James Central today voted for attorney Ashley Ann Foster to represent the party in the constituency in the next general election.
The 26- year-old Foster polled 252 Votes, while her opponent, Henry McCurdy, also an attorney, got 185 votes.
Of the 708 delegates eligible to vote, 440 cast ballots.
If Foster get’s the party’s leadership’s nod, she will contest the seat that was first contested in the 2011 General Election, and won by publisher Lloyd B Smith.
Foster will face the Jamaica Labour Party’s Heroy Clarke — who lost to Smith by 98 votes in 2011— in the upcoming general election.
