Barbados-bound men held with ganja at NMIA
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Three men were charged with breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act at the Norman Manley International Airport (NMIA) in Kingston on Sunday, January 1.
They police have identified them as:
• Leroy Lennon, 21, of Dumbers River, Savanna-la-Mar, Westmoreland;
• Bobby Brown, 23, of Dumbers River, Savanna-la-Mar, Westmoreland; and
• Rayon Lee, 22, of Tate Drive, Central Village, St Catherine.
Reports from the Narcotics Police are that about 2:00 pm, all three men arrived at the NMIA and checked in for an outgoing flight to Barbados. During security checks, the men were searched and ganja weighing approximately six pounds allegedly found.
The police say further investigations revealed that two of the men had ingested ganja pellets.
They were transported to hospital and the pellets removed.
All three men are to appear before the St Andrew Parish Court tomorrow.
