British woman held at MoBay airport with cocaine
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Detectives attached to the Narcotics Division are reporting the seizure of 11.36 kilos (25 pounds) of cocaine at the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, St James, yesterday.
A British woman was subsequently arrested.
Reports are that about 3:30 pm, officers approached the suspect and requested a search of her luggage. On closer inspection of her luggage, the drug, estimated at a street value of J$13 million, was found hidden in false compartments. She was then detained for questioning.
The police say her identity is being withheld pending further investigation.
