COJ suspends express services
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Companies Office of Jamaica (COJ) says that it will be suspending its same and next day services for new registrations of businesses and companies from November 27 to December 8.
In a release Friday the agency said that guaranteed service time for all services will also be affected and full service will be restored on Wednesday, December 9.
The release added that the suspension of services is as a result of the web service of the Tax Administration of Jamaica being offline during the period due to upgrade work being done to accommodate the phase two roll out of Revenue Administration Information System (RAiS).
“During the affected period, customers requiring regular service will be able to register businesses and companies. However, Certificates of Incorporation and other documents will not be generated until the following week,”the release said.
To facilitate the registration process, the COJ is asking customers to submit the originals of their Tax Registration Numbers or drivers licence when conducting business.
The web service is used by the COJ as a part of their ‘one-stop business registration service’. A list of affected services can be viewed via the agency’s website and social media pages.
