Cops acquitted of corruption charge
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Two police officers were on Monday freed of charges that they breached the Corruption Prevention Act.
Constables Greg Drummond and Dean Thomas were freed at the end of a trial in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court.
The men were arrested in September of 2013 on allegation that they demanded money from a female operator of a wholesale who was held with a quantity of uncustomed goods after her vehicle was pulled over.
The men were represented by attorney Peter Champagnie and his junior Kemar Robinson.
