Cops arrest suspected mastermind in car-stealing ring
ST ANDREW, Jamaica — Detectives attached to the St Andrew North Police Division this morning arrested a man they believe is the mastermind behind a car-stealing ring operating in and around the Kingston 8 area.
He has been identified as 46-year-old Shawn Bell of Shortwood Road, Kingston 8.
Bell has since been charged with unlawful possession of property.
Reports from the police’s Corporate Communications Unit are that about 6:30 am, lawmen went to Bell’s home where an illegal garage was discovered.
The police say several motor vehicle parts, including Nissan Caravan and Note, Toyota Mark X, and Axio engines, were seized.
Bell is scheduled to appear before the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on Wednesday, September 21, the police say.
