Cops hunt two praedial larceny suspects
ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica — The police are seeking two men who fled the scene of an animal slaughter in St Elizabeth on Tuesday.
They have been identified as Nicholas Lawrence of Lilliput, St James and Rudyan Foster of Williams Field and Institution Drive, Santa Cruz, St Elizabeth.
The lawmen last evening reported that seven goat carcasses were found on a bathroom floor in the parish after the men fled.
The police are asking the suspects or anyone knowing their whereabouts to report to the nearest police station.
Meanwhile, the police urged the public to be careful when purchasing meats because in most instances the meats of those stolen animals are stored in unsanitary conditions.
A number of the animals stolen are either pregnant or being treated for various illnesses and is not fit for public consumption. Meats should only be purchased from registered meat distribution outlets where the facilities are regularly inspected and meet required standard, the police said.
